Determines whether a truck is
properly grounded and prevents loading or unloading
with an improper ground. Prevents possible fires and
explosions due to static electricity buildup on
ungrounded trucks. |
 |
|
|
|
 |
Monitors the truck grounding status
to help prevent fires and explosions due to static
electricity discharge during loading or unloading of
flammable fluids. |
 |
If the ground connection is not
made, or is lost, during loading or unloading the
warning horn sounds for 30 seconds, and then the
loading system is shut down.
|
 |
Two separate ground clamps are used
to verify ground contact so no special ground balls
or bolts are required, allowing operation at any
site. If desired, the system can be configured to
work with ground bolts.
|
 |
A spark free connection at the
ground clamp is ensured by low power battery
operation and high resistance isolation from the 12
volt power circuits (horn and shut down).
|
 |
Self diagnostic system checks
complete ground circuit, and cannot be fooled by a
shorted ground cable. The controller continuously
displays complete system status on a day and night
visible indicator.
|
 |
The system is disconnected from the
warning horn and loading system when the loading
system is disengaged.
|
 |
The entire PosiGround system is
truck mounted, the controller can be placed inside
the truck cab or outside by the loading controls.
The controller is powered by an internal battery
which lasts 10 years.
|
 |
Simple installation, only five wires
to connect (ground, ground sense, horn, shut down,
and optional 12 volt display illumination).
|
 |
Operation from -40 oF to +150 oF
(-40 oC to +65 oC) ambient
temperature.
|
 |
One year limited warranty.

The PosiGround system consists of
four main components: the controller mounted either
inside or outside the cab of the truck, the PTO
engagement or loading sensing switch, the grounding
fault warning horn, and the ground connectors, which
consists of the clamp module, a pair of ground
cables, and a pair of ground clamps.
|
 |
The controller is the “brains”
of the system. It determines the operational status
of the system and whether the ground clamps are
properly connected, and controls the warning horn
and the shutdown of the loading. The front panel of
the controller has an LCD diagnostic display which
allows the operator to determine whether the trailer
is grounded, and also to assist in troubleshooting
in the event of a system malfunction.
|
 |
The LCD has a light behind it to aid
in night time viewing, this light operates from the
12 volt power on the truck. There are six wires
coming from the controller: ground, ground sense,
shutdown, warning horn, PTO sense, and 12 volt power
for display illumination. The controller operates
from a 3 volt Lithium cell which should give
approximately 10 years of lifetime. The battery
operation makes the grounding status display
independent of truck power.
|
 |
| The controller continuously
scans the ground and ground sense lines (the
two ground cables with their clamps and the
clamp module) to determine the ground status
of the truck. There are six conditions that
the controller scans for: |
- Loading Disengaged
- Loading Engaged
- Open Circuit
- Short Circuit
- Reversed Clamp Module
- Proper Ground Connection
