A low cost electrical based system for trucks
hauling non-flammable product. |
Provides a
product volume readout for truck tanks |
| Provides
reliable electronic solutions to: |
- Uncertainty of the amount of product
being loaded or unloaded
- Weigh scale fines by letting you know
the exact amount of fluid in the tank
- Pump damage due to
water ingestion
The amount of product is shown
on an accurate digital LED display.
Display can be calibrated with
the 916 programmer to read in inches of level or in
volume units such as barrels, gallons, litres, or
cubic metres.
LED display provides excellent
nighttime visibility.
Designed for products such as
water, sewage, or non- flammable chemicals.
No moving parts, except for
the molded polyethylene float, ensures high
reliability.
Resolution is 0.25 inches,
giving an accuracy of +/- 1/8 inches (+/- .3 cm).
The Annihilator is designed
for outside mounting, and operates on 12V truck
power.
Smaller in-cab version display
is also available.
Operation from -40 to +140 oF
ambient temperature, up to +185 oF product
temperature.

The gauge operates using a magnetic reed switch sensor
bar detecting the float magnetic field. The resolution
is 0.25 inches, giving an accuracy of +/- 1/8 inch.
The float is made of polyethylene and is 8.5 inches in
diameter, and has a cone shaped top to shed sludge and
solids in the liquid.
When the float is rising, the gauge will read about
1/16 inch lower than when the float is falling. This
happens because the reed switches are less sensitive
to engagement than they are to disengagement. The
practical result of this is that the gauge reading is
very stable and does not flicker with small ripples on
the surface of the product.
A one inch diameter 304 stainless steel tube houses
the sensor bar, and it is fully sealed to prevent
moisture or product from causing damage. The bar can
be cut to fit any tank up to 90 inches high, and can
be easily removed for servicing or to install into
another tank.
Two wires are required between the sensor bar and the
display, and the display requires 12 volt truck power.
The signal between the bar and the display is coded so
that water, salt, or corrosion will not cause false
readings.
| Two versions of displays are available to fit any
application: |
- Model 806B: Mounted in a Valox Betts
box, this display can be placed outside
and resists indirect road spray
- Model 806Bi: Mounted in a 5" x 2
1/2" enclosure, this display is for
in-cab use only
The LED display is large enough to allow viewing from
up to 10 feet away.
The volume calibration is programmed during
installation with the 916 Total Programmer and the 829
Programmer Adapter. The calibration can be done in
inches of level, or in any volume unit, as long as a
calibration table (volume vs. depth) is available for
the tank. The display has 4 digits, allowing better
than 1% accuracy.
