Float based gauge system for basic applications. |
Patented microprocessor based digital system
measures fluid level with 1/4" accuracy in
tanks up to 32 feet high. |
System is self powered with 5 year lithium batteries,
allowing stand alone operation with no external power.
316 stainless steel sender bar and polyethylene
float resist corrosion, optional PVC sheath for the
sender bar is available for acid applications.
LCD display for easy daytime viewing with a back light
for night viewing.
System can be factory or field calibrated for any
desired display units, such as barrels, gallons, or
inches of level.
High reliability design has no moving parts except for
the float.
Built-in overfill warning alarm can activate a horn
or light.
Installation and servicing is simplified by modular
design, fibre optic connection between sender bar and
display, no external power requirements, and extensive
diagnostic tools.
Operation from -45 to +60 oC ambient
temperature, -45 to +85 oC product
temperature.
One year limited warranty.
Maximum tank height:
25 feet (7.6 m).
Principle of operation:
Reed switches in sender bar are activated by magnets
in the float, and are read by a microprocessor. Signal
from the sender bar is transmitted to the display
through plastic fibre optic cable.
Resolution:
1/4 inch (6 mm).
Accuracy:
+/- 1/8 inch (3 mm).
Specific gravity sensitivity:
Float sinks one inch (25 mm) in water.
Hysteresis:
1/16 inch (1.5 mm) (Difference between reading with
float rising and reading with float falling.
Eliminates display flicker.)
Maximum fibre optic length:
200 feet (60 m). Fibre can be cut with a knife.
Ambient temperature range:
-45 to +60 oC, product temperature range is
-45 to +85 oC.
Battery lifetime:
5 continuous operation for sender bar and 10 years on
display. Sender battery can be easily replaced in the
field.
Display type:
5 digit numerical, 0.50 inch LCD can be programmed to
display level or volume.
Display temperature drift:
0
Alarms:
One alarm consisting of a MOSFET transistor conducting
to ground when the alarm is "on". The
transistor has a rating of 1 Amp at 30 volts DC.
Alarm defaults to "off" if the signal from
the sender bar is corrupted or lost. A second,
self resetting alarm output is available for an
overfill warning.
Alarm temperature drift:
0
Power requirements:
Display/Sender Bar: None for basic operation.
Display backlight requires 12 volts DC.
Display enclosure:
Valox enclosure, 4 inches in diameter.
Float construction:
Cylindrical, approximately 7.25 inches diameter by 4.5
inches high. Float material is polyethylene.
Bar construction:
One inch diameter 316 stainless steel tube houses reed
switches and temperature sensors. Optional PVC sheath
for bar permits operation in strong acids.
Fitting requirements:
Sender bar is held in place at the top with a one inch
compression fitting, requires a one inch female NPT
thread in the tank top. At tank bottom either a
weighted anchor or a weld in anchor can be used.
Diagnostics:
Display shows if signal from sender bar is corrupted
or lost. 916 programmer can measure optical signal
level, sender integrity, display integrity, and can
exercise the alarm points.
