Garnet Instruments has released a new feature in firmware version 2.04 for its 806-B and 806-Bi SeeLeveL Annihilator tank truck level gauges, introducing a rise alarm designed to prevent spills and misloads during liquid transfer operations.
This feature is specifically designed for systems configured with two or three compartments and is not applicable to single-compartment setups. Its purpose is to alert the user when the tank level increases in a compartment that is not currently selected for viewing—a situation that can occur due to operator error or a leaky or partially closed valve.
If any unselected compartment shows a level increase of more than one inch (2.5 cm) since it was last selected, the system will:
While the rise alarm is active, the user cannot switch compartments—the display will immediately revert to the compartment with the alarm. To resume normal operation, the user must press the ALARM BYPASS button, which clears the rise alarm, resets Alarm 1, and returns the display to the standard “CX” format. Alternatively, power cycling the display will also clear the alarm.
Importantly, this feature cannot be permanently disabled. Once cleared, the system resumes monitoring all unselected compartments for further rise events, ensuring continuous protection.
This update reinforces Garnet Instruments’ commitment to operational safety and reliability in mobile tank applications.
The updated firmware is available for download on the Transport Resource Library page.
